Bon Voyage! The phrase seems to have lost its significance. Ever since the gruesomeness of the COVID-19 pandemic took over, travel has been a tall order. However, with mass vaccination drives globally, the tourism industry appears to be coming back in the saddle as people are finally hoping to hit the road again.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been a tough sledding for economies, a roller coaster ride that no one likes. The highs are the waves’ peaks, and the lows are the times when the economy recovers. It is unknown when the world will be entirely free of the coronavirus, our invisible enemy. But life has to get back on track and industries need to revive.

“Revival with caution” should be the motto of the world tourism industry.

The industry depends upon travellers to sustain, and people rely on the tourism industry to quench the thirst for travel.

  • A better sight at the Australian tradition and culture – Australian culture is a live example of how beauty sustains through thick and thin. Australians need to utilise this time to reconnect with the roots and relish what their own tradition offers them. The industry and the government need to advertise and promote the culture and art existing in the rural areas.
  • Scope for safe travel bubbles – Like the New Zealand travel bubble, Australia can develop more such travel bubbles with countries where the COVID-19 situation is in control. More nuanced travel bubbles will allow the Australians to have a safe space to travel and explore.
  • New promotions are the need of the hour – In the current times, everything is unprecedented, and it has become hard to foresee anything. Thus, people are venturing with more impromptu trips. Agencies need to adapt ways to accommodate immediate requirements of the travellers for impromptu trips in a way that safety is not compromised.

All in all, the most crucial thing is to consistently thrive for innovation. The market is currently risky, but it can pick up steam if the industry leaders and government plan their way intelligently, so that the industry thrives along with the safety of the travellers.
