Visit St. Pete/Clearwater Unveils New Value of Tourism CampaignIn a remarkable turn of events, Visit St. Pete/Clearwater has rolled out a fresh tourism campaign titled “From Visitors, with Love.” This innovative initiative, which was kicked off to align with 727 Day, strives to underline the massive influence of tourism on Pinellas County’s economy and the lifestyle of its residents.

As per the estimates, the annual contribution of tourism to the local economy is an impressive $10.8 billion. Brian Lowack, the Interim President/CEO of Visit St. Pete/Clearwater, highlighted the significance of the tourism sector as the community’s lifeblood. He emphasized how grateful they are to the residents and the visitors who have transformed St. Pete/Clearwater into a place that effortlessly balances life, work, and play.

This groundbreaking campaign aims to showcase the generosity of the local community that warmly opens its doors to global visitors, making a daily positive impact on the community.

Tourism is a driving force for the local economy, given that visitor-generated revenue manifests in tax savings, job creation, and the financing of critical local initiatives. Backing this assertion, the 2022 Visit St. Pete/Clearwater Visitor Profile Study provides substantial data, pointing out that visitor spending crossed the $6.7 billion mark. This translated into creating 109,000 jobs locally, generating over $3.56 billion in wages and salaries annually. When tourists pick St. Pete/Clearwater for their holiday, they contribute significantly more than just affection to the entire community.

The “From Visitors, with Love” campaign initiated two pop-up events at iconic destinations – St. Pete Pier and the newly refurbished Coachman Park to engage the community. Visit St. Pete/Clearwater offered free coffee courtesy of Café Tuk Tuk at St. Pete Pier starting at 7:27 a.m. Simultaneously, park visitors were delighted with giveaways from Frios Gourmet Pops and local entertainment that began at 7:27 p.m. and lasted until 9 p.m. at Coachman Park.
