THAI International has temporarily stood down its Australian staff, except for “minimal teams processing essential services” the carrier confirmed in a bulletin issued yesterday.

“We sincerely apologise for the difficulty in reaching our offices at the moment due to extreme call and email volumes,” the message began.

“Your patience and understanding is appreciated as we work through your requests.

“Following the suspension of THAI services to/from Australia until 30 Jun ’20 and within Asia and Europe until 31 May ’20, our Australian team members have been temporarily stood down with minimal teams processing essential services. We appreciate your patience as we work through the calls, emails and refund requests.

“THAI is offering special assistance to customers affected by flight suspensions from 25 Mar to 31 May ’20 with ticket validity extensions for travel within Dec ’21.”
