Spread the love

This festive season, Hotel Café Royal is delighted to partner once again with diptyque Paris and is taking the collaboration one step further than last year. Opening to guests of the hotel and the public from 14th November, the partnership will include a giant advent calendar and pop-up shop, a Christmas tree adorned with bespoke diptyque ornaments within the Holiday theme of lucky charms, afternoon tea with take-home candle, as well as wreath making and table decoration workshops.

The first of its kind, the diptyque advent calendar will be in the hotel’s historical lobby and will reach up to the first floor in height. The piece is an exact copy of diptyque’s sell-out advent calendars and will feature the same intricate design and gilding. Below the installation will be the diptyque Holiday pop-up shop where guests can browse the Christmas collection and choose gifts for their loved ones.

Also on offer will be the diptyque workshops which will take place in Ziggy’s bar at Hotel Café Royal in the run-up to Christmas. Led by the hotel’s in-house florist, Jamie Aston, the wreath-making workshops will allow guests to learn how to make their own wreath and personalise with scented diptyque ovals for the finishing touch. In December, the hotel will offer table decoration workshops where guests will make their own Christmas centerpiece and receive a diptyque candle to complete the experience.

This year diptyque’s Holiday collection is inspired by porte-bonheur (lucky charms) from around the world, designed by German-based illustrator and author, Olaf Hajek. The bespoke ornaments include a ladybird, a swallow, a Maneki Neko (lucky cat), a rainbow, coral, a shooting star, and many more. Each creation is brightly coloured and playfully decorated which Hajek hopes will bring joy to every visiting guest.

Guests can complete the diptyque experience at Hotel Café Royal with the diptyque Afternoon Tea, served in the historic Oscar Wilde Lounge. After enjoying the new festive menu which launches on 11th November, guests will receive a 70g candle to take home.
