The tourism runners and travellers are at the fore front of welcoming the decision. As borders reopen, it is significant to frame a new set of policies to kickstart the recovery.
The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) is focused on bringing the tourism sector back to the heart of the world economy. The pandemic has drastically hurt the travel and tourism industry. The total contribution of travel and tourism was rising at a tremendous rate prior to the pandemic. However, the tiny virus impacted the world on such a scale, that the entire chorus of the tourism sector got hurt.
But as they say, better late than never!
The world tourism industry is finally all set to kickstart its recovery. To help the sector grow this year, the UNWTO is getting back in Geneva. UNWTO Secretary-General meets WHO Director in Geneva
Both parties are discussing the shared vision of easing out the restrictions to place a better recovery path for the world tourism sector. The UN organisations believe that a blanket ban on mobility does not help curb the transmission of the virus; instead, it only hurts the social and economic progress of the economies.
Thus, a clearer and more sustainable plan is needed for the international tourism sector to build trust among the travellers and the industry runners. To device such a plan, both parties met in Geneva.
