An immaculate celebration for wellness and travel, the Destination Deluxe Awards 2021 honored the best retreats, hotels, spas, treatments, and skincare products around the globe.
On the evening of October 27, the W Hong Kong hotel was transformed into a royal palace where nominees, industry insiders, and honored guests alike all fancied up for the much-anticipated evening. In recognition of the industry’s finest in 22 categories, awards, which had been voted on by a panel of 18 expert judges, were presented to the best spas, treatments, hotels and resorts, retreats, and products that have exhibited outstanding achievements in not only luxury standards, but also superb innovation and quality, ecological awareness, and prospective contributions to the growth of wellness and travel.
With 22 well-acclaimed names deliberated as the winners, the splendid evening saw over 100 leading wellness and travel professionals gathering to pay tribute to the winners who have advanced the quality and have gone above and beyond to provide exceptional service and satisfaction for their guests. Bespoke travelers, wellness specialists, and admirers from around the world also had the opportunity to tune in to the livestream that was broadcasted to people around the globe and virtually participate in the spectacular evening. Some of the big winners of the night were Kamalaya Wellness Sanctuary & Holistic Spa, which received the recognition of “Wellness Retreat of the Year”, while JOALI Maldives took home the title of “Hotel of the Year”. Subtle Energies was awarded “Natural Skincare Brand of the Year” and PAÑPURI ORGANIC SPA, Park Hyatt Bangkok was named as the “Spa of the Year”.
“The last two years have been exceptionally challenging, with many unexpected changes to our daily lives, interactions with travel for business or leisure, and our appreciation for wellness,” says Vivienne Tang, CEO & Founder of Destination Deluxe, “but the evening of the awards was a revival of being together – it was extremely refreshing to return alongside new and familiar brands who could celebrate alongside us, and even walk away with an award.”
