Antola Trading has named each of their new season kids’ shirts after a seriously ill child from regional Australia and will donate $2 from every shirt sale, in a new partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charity (RMHC).Each year thousands of farming families travel far from their home in regional Australia to receive medical care for their children. This can often be a time of high stress and financial difficulty, but RMHC helps to ease the burden by keeping families together and close to the hospital.

Ronald McDonald House Charities South East Queensland’s Executive Manager of Fundraising, Fiona MacAnally said Antola Trading’s donations are an incredible fundraising opportunity for the charity that supports thousands of country children and their families each year.

“We’d like to thank Antola Trading for including us in this amazing campaign which will go towards helping us run our facilities and programs that support thousands of regional and rural families that need to travel to Brisbane to ensure their children are receiving critical care and treatment,” Fiona said.

Owned and designed in Outback Australia, Antola Trading has designed 23 new men’s, women’s and kids work shirts as part of its latest collection. Each design is named after someone handpicked by founder Alicia McClymont, who she believes is having a diverse impact on regional and rural Australia through the local community or at the highest level of the Agricultural industry.

Some of the 23 namesakes honoured in the collection include:

  1. Frauke Bolten-Boshammer – Diamond Dealer and Author, Kununurra WA
  2. Jane Thomson – Founder of The Fabulous Ladies’ Wine Society and the Australian Women in Wine Awards, Eltham NSW
  3. Bryce Camm – President of Beef Australia, Irvingdale QLD
  4. Amanda Moohen – Regional Manager at AACo and Founder of Women of Lot Feeding, Dalby QLD
  5. Ewan McAsh – Co-founder and CEO of Smart Oysters Pty Ltd, Broulee NSW
  6. Randall Wilksch – Nuffield Australia 2016 Scholar, Millswood SA
  7. Alice Mabin – Photographer and Publisher, Linthorpe QLD
  8. Simone Kain – Co-founder and author of education brand – George the Farmer, Penola SA
  9. Georgie Somerset – General President of AgForce, Kingaroy QLD
  10. Zara Boshammer – RMHC ambassador, Condamine QLD
  11. Ainsley Davies – RMHC ambassador, Frenchville QLD

Alicia said they are “thrilled to have connected with the shirt ambassadors, and to share their stories of resilience and strength, especially the seriously ill kids who have to travel to the city for medical treatment.”

Shirt namesake Ainsley Davies from Rockhampton was born at just 31 weeks. The little fighter has a chronic lung disease, epilepsy and also has ongoing eye complications. At just 5 years old she has already undergone cataract surgery and has endured a lot in her short life with multiple surgeries and ongoing treatment. During her family’s frequent visits for treatment and appointments in Brisbane, the Davies family call Ronald McDonald House home as they are supported during the unknown of what is still to come for their future.

Ainsley’s mother Amanda says “being close to the hospital meant we could get treatment and be closely monitored. Our kids were able to play with other children that had medical conditions and this has made them more understanding.”

“Without Ronald McDonald House I would hate to think how a lot of families would survive. They need every donation they can get, no matter how small every bit counts. It’s not just one family you could help but so many more like ours” expressed Amanda.

To celebrate the incredible people involved in the new campaign, Antola Trading has partnered with Humans of Agriculture (HoA) to share each shirt story in a series of podcast episodes.

“We think everyone has a good story to tell, and that’s especially true in the country! So, we are so incredibly excited to be partnering with Humans of Agriculture to bring each of our amazing ambassador stories to peoples ears for the first time. Over 20 episodes there will be diverse stories of resilience, adventure, innovation, and a few life lessons. Our hope is that you’ll be reminded of these stories and be proud of the inspiring community you’re part of every time you pull your Antola work shirt on,” Alicia said.

Humans of Agriculture is on a journey to share 10,000 stories that celebrate the incredible people involved in regional Australia communities.

Founder of HoA Oli Le Lievre said “It was really obvious once Alicia and I started talking just how passionate each of us is about regional Australia and the people within it. Seeing the ambassadors that are part of Antola Trading is incredible. It’s a privilege to get a front-row seat with each of them to share their story. I can’t wait for you to begin listening in and joining in on the conversation and celebrating the diversity of our industry and the opportunities it presents.”

“We are so proud to share these stories, as well as to be a part of such a vibrant and ambitious community of regional Australians,” Alicia said.
