Linkd Tourism, a Gold Coast based industry leading sales, distribution, marketing, and PR tourism representation company has announced the appointment of Account Manager, Michael Cassis, [pictured with MD Kylee Kay] to General Manager of the business’s local operations.

Michael will retain his account management responsibilities for several of the business’s U.S. and Japan destinations including Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation, Visit GIFU, Kanazawa City and Nagano City, whilst also supporting business operations, leading Linkd Tourism’s phenomenal team of Account and Marketing managers, and identifying new opportunities as both domestic and international tourism looks to rebound in 2021 and beyond.

Michael said, “When I joined Linkd Tourism in April 2020, I was grateful to Kylee and the team for welcoming me into the business during such a volatile time for our industry.”

“I’m so proud of the creativity and resilience the team and business have shown throughout the past year and look forward to supporting Linkd Tourism further in 2021 as we continue to offer dynamic and results driven opportunities for international destinations and products to engage with the Australian and New Zealand market.”

Managing Director of Linkd Tourism, Kylee Kay, said, “I have known Michael for many years and was thrilled to have him join our team last year.”  “He has shown true leadership, outstanding knowledge and market understanding and the grit needed in these turbulent times to lead each business unit out the other end.  Michael is so well known and loved, and it is an honour to have him on board.”  “There is nobody better to take Linkd to greater heights as we continue to provide value to our much-loved clients”

Since joining the Linkd Tourism team in April 2020, Michael has developed and executed the trade strategy and in-market plans for Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation, Visit GIFU, Kanazawa City and Nagano City, along with supporting the business by seeking and pitching for new opportunities.

Michael began his career in the travel industry in 2006 as a Team Leader and International Travel Consultant at Flight Centre before progressing to Infinity Holidays as a Wholesale Reservations Agent and later stepping into marketing as Infinity’s Marketing Manager for the USA.

Prior to joining the Linkd Tourism team in April 2020, he spent over five years as the National Travel Business Development Manager for Disney Destinations where he promoted six of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts’ global Theme Park, Resort and Cruise Line businesses in the Australian and New Zealand market.
