Linkd Tourism is pleased to announce the appointment of two seasoned professionals to pivotal roles within their destination client roster.
Effective immediately, Carolyn Nightingale has been appointed Senior Account Manager for I Love New York State, the official tourism office for the State of New York. At the same time, Lawson Dibb steps into the role of Account Manager for the Kyushu Tourism Office.
Carolyn Nightingale brings her new position with over 30 years of diverse travel industry experience. With a background king in the Australian travel industry, Nightingale has held various roles across the tourism sector for tourism boards such as Lost Angeles and airlines such as Delta Air Line, gaining a deep understanding of destination marketing.
Reflecting on her appointment, Nightingale stated, “I am honoured to take on the role of Senior Account Manager for I Love New York State. New York State continues to captivate Australians and New Zealanders and is currently the third most popular destination with them. I am excited to promote the State and focus on product development with trade partners, encouraging tourists to go beyond the city to explore the Hudson Valley, Niagara Falls, or the many wine regions nearby.”
Lawson Dibb, a rising star at Linkd Tourism, brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role as Account Manager for the Kyushu Tourism Office. With a tourism and travel marketing background, Dibb has a proven track record of driving tourism growth, having previously held roles at ignite Travel. His extensive experience and connection to Japan uniquely position him to contribute to the success of the Kyushu Tourism Office’s marketing initiatives.
Commenting on his appointment, Dibb remarked, “I am thrilled to lead the efforts in promoting Kyushu as a must-visit Japanese destination. I am particularly excited to take advantage of the recent spike in Japanese tourism from Australia, up 87.4% in March 2024 versus 2019. As a fluent Japanese speaker, I am eager to showcase what is on offer beyond the traditional Golden Route and how travellers can be rewarded for going off the beaten track to explore Kyushu’s unique food scene, volcanic landscapes, and wellness experiences.”
In addition to his role with the Kyushu Tourism Office, Lawson will also work across the Washington State account at Linkd Tourism, promoting the North-western State in Australia.
Kylee Kay, CEO of Linkd Tourism, remarked, “It’s an exciting time for our business as we continue to grow our team and expand our client roster. Over the last 18 months, we have secured a series of new clients, including the full destination management for New York State, Arizona State, Visit Seattle, and Washington State Tourism, plus the PR account for the Hong Kong Tourism Board. We are thrilled to see Carolyn and Lawson in their new roles, and we are confident that they will play pivotal roles in driving the success of our destination clients.”
