COVID-19 has had a severe effect on travel demand across the our network, especially at our Los Angeles (LAX) and San Francisco (SFO) hubs given their large percentage of international connections. Despite this impact, we have a responsibility to get people and goods where they need to be, including health care professionals and much-needed medical supplies. Today, we are taking another step to keep our customers and employees safe and help to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak in California.

Starting on April 12, we will temporarily — but significantly — reduce our flying schedules to and from SFO and LAX to better match demand in the wake of COVID-19. The specific reduction plan includes the following changes and will be in effect for at least the next three weeks:

These changes are in addition to the New York area schedule reductions announced yesterday. While New York and New Jersey are the primary COVID-19 hotspots today, we are mindful that the geographic impact of the virus continues to change so we are considering additional mitigation measures we can take in stations all across our network.

While our operations are significantly reduced, our commitment to you is not. At all times, our team remains available to answer any questions you may have – please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
