Borealis in Syd

Australian small ship cruise specialist, Cruise Traveller, hosted 30 travel agents aboard the 1350-guest cruise ship, Borealis, in Sydney today – the ship’s first visit to Australia as a Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines vessel.

Cruise Traveller is the exclusive Australian representative for UK-based Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines.

Cruise Traveller Managing Director Joseph O’Sullivan helped lead the tour and lunch aboard the ship for the agents.

Borealis is currently visiting Australia as part of a round-the-world cruise from the UK, with many Australians booked to cruise back to the UK aboard the ship. “Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is gaining resonance with the Australian market with more Australians attracted to the offering of classic, mid-sized ships offering traditional voyages with more time spent in port,” Mr O’Sullivan said.

This is the first time Borealis has visited Sydney as part of the Fred,Olsen fleet. The cruise line bought the ship in 2020.

She was previously known as Rotterdam for the Holland America Line. Built in 1997.

Next year, a Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ sister ship to Borealis –  Bolette (formerly HAL’s Amsterdam) –  will visit Australia as part of a world cruise.
