Accor Pacific’s communications team, Claire Haigh and Naomi Hammond, have won the prestigious Travel Communicator of the Year Award at the Australian Society of Travel Writers (ASTW) 2022 Awards for Excellence.
Sponsored by TravMedia, the award recognizes excellence achieved by communications professionals, with the winning entry achieving exceptional media results, through demonstrating creativity, strategic planning, collaboration with partners, and positive (or turnaround) sentiment using an extensive array of PR tools, such as press releases, famils, events, social media campaign and photography.
A representative for the ASTW, the respected peak body for Australian travel media, said that the Accor communications team entry was a “very strong submission which drove sustained and impressive publicity for the hotel chain’s restaurant business across the portfolio.”
Accor Pacific Director of Communications, Claire Haigh, said: “It is a great honour to receive this award that recognizes our achievements in making an impact in the media for our teams, hotels and restaurants. This award reinforces that we are passionate about nurturing our relationships with the media and creating meaningful, quality campaigns. Thank you to those who took part in the judging process and congratulations to all finalists and winners.”
“It is an exciting time to work in hospitality as the travel industry enters an era of growth.
