The launch of the Oakwood Premier Melbourne is another step towards the multinational’s recognition as a member of the global luxury hotel group. With 80 managed properties overall and 10 of those in the world’s most popular gateway cities, the company has a plan for continued expansion.
The Melbourne property features a 40-story tower with a combination of luxury hotel accommodation and serviced apartments.
Located on Southbank the property has 132 luxury hotel rooms and 260 serviced apartments styled and furnished with state-of-the-art in-room technology, catering to the modern traveller.
The Melbourne property has an all-day dining restaurant, Fifth, serving a modern Australian menu with a taste of the Pacific, as well as a classy Lobby Bar offering light refreshments and evening cocktails in a relaxed setting. The Sky Bar on Level 40 also serves a memorable cocktail and dining experience with panoramic views.

The company has two more marquee developments in the pipeline: Oakwood Premier Phnom Penh in Cambodia, which is scheduled to open in 2022, and Oakwood Premier Kuala Lumpur, which will open at the world’s second-tallest building ‘Merdeka 118’ in 2024.

Schreiber, the CEO with a vision is a veteran with over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. He has held various portfolios across several hospitality groups. His global portfolio with Oakwood comprises more than 13 thousand accommodation units under several distinctive brands.
Founded in Los Angeles in 1962 Oakwood started as a leading provider of serviced apartments globally with a presence in more than 15 countries.
The company invited the media to a preview of the Melbourne property with an intimate dinner at Wine bar 92 in Sydney’s Glebe where CEO Dean Schreiber addressed the 20-strong media.
