Queenstown Airport welcomed back Jetstar’s Gold Coast route today with JQ193 touching down at 11.25am, a few minutes ahead of schedule.CEO Glen Sowry said it’s great to see another Australian route back. Qantas resumed trans-Tasman flights to ZQN last week.
“We are thrilled to see Jetstar flying across the Tasman again and are welcoming those Queenslanders with open arms. Both the inbound and outbound flight were approximately 75% full which is a great sign for the winter ahead.”
Local residents now have the opportunity to fly direct to Gold Coast and Sydney once more, while direct routes to Melbourne and Brisbane start back up on 18 June.
Air New Zealand returns to their Tasman routes on 24 June.
