Allowing Melbournians to scratch their G&T itch for another summer, QT Melbourne in partnership with Four Pillars are reviving the Secret Garden Bar, re-opening this Thursday the 12th of November.

A seamless complement to Melbourne’s dreamy cityscape and nestled behind the iconic Rooftop at QT, lays a garden oasis. Previously a self-sufficient produce source for QT’s food and beverage team, the garden was impressively re-designed and unveiled as the Secret Garden Bar in partnership with Four Pillars last summer.

With plenty of sun, a little shade, and icy, refreshing beverages, guests are transported to the lush, leafy haven set against a startling city view via a secluded back of house doorway. Fitting just 40 people amongst bushes of Native River Mint, large leaves of Fruit Salad Sage and Blue Lily Pillies, the Secret Garden Bar feels like your own private terrace, in the middle of Melbourne.

Due to popular demand, QT Melbourne and Victorian distillery Four Pillars have teamed up once again to create a bespoke drinks menu almost as impressive as the view. Featuring a collection of Four Pillars gins, guests can order off the alluring cocktail list, or choose their own adventure, selecting herbs from the garden to mix with their gin of choice.

What the bar staff are splashing in your glass is equally as alluring. The Spiced Negroni Spritz showcases Four Pillars’ Spiced Negroni Gin, a highly aromatic, botanical, bitter and bubbly concoction that packs a spicy punch. The Gintonic, a textural and bright Spanish-style gin and tonic, is garnished with fresh rosemary picked straight from the garden and features the newest savoury gin from Four Pillars, Olive Leaf. Bloody & Lemon is another super-simple refresher on the menu that balances Four Pillars sweet Bloody Shiraz Gin, with a tart bitter lemon tonic and garnished with a wedge of grapefruit.

The partnership will also see QT Melbourne and Four Pillars hosting all-inclusive, multi-sensory events with masterclasses and tastings for visiting connoisseurs and locals alike. Whether guests want to jump behind the bar and learn how to shake a cocktail, or expand their gin knowledge – QT Melbourne’s gin expert will lead guests through comprehensive tastings and educational masterclasses of Four Pillar’s vibrant gins, with a side of sky-line views.

Lee Davey, QT Melbourne’s General Manager said, “At QT Melbourne, we’re constantly producing the highest levels of service and we love to create incredible experiences through cutting-edge collaborations, art, music and food – that’s what makes our relationship with Four Pillars such a natural fit. We were overwhelmed by the positive response to the Secret Garden Bar from our food and beverage obsessed guests last year, and are so excited to be partnering with the team at Four Pillars again this year.”

Four Pillars co-founder Stuart Gregor said, “We had such a fun time bringing the Secret Garden to life with QT Melbourne in 2019 and after the year Victorians have had it was a no brainer to partner up again for some more fun. We’re looking forward to a summer of pouring great gin drinks in one of the great hotels in the great city of Melbourne.”

Sparkle your senses this summer.

The Secret Garden Bar re-opens Thursday the 12th of November and will be open Thursday – Saturday afternoon.
