Pacific Hotels Grows Senior Leadership Team by Three in Queensland and Celebrates Ten Years of Service for Director of Sales, Vernon Hyden.

Reintroducing the hotel to the market, Neil Hetherington has been recruited as General Manager, bringing 15+ years of knowledge and connections. Lachlan Rentell joins Neil as Director of Sales at the 179-room, 4-star hotel. A Queensland local, Lachlan has worked the hotel scene for the past 10+ years, joining the Pacific family after seven years with Minor Hotels.
Melissa Hoare has been appointed as Hotel Manager at Coral Cay Mackay; acquired by Pacific Hotels in 2019. Melissa brings operations, revenue and sales expertise to managing the 82-room resort. Located centrally, Coral Cay is the place to stay when visiting Mackay, featuring an outdoor swimming pool, restaurant and event spaces. The rooms, suites and apartments have been recently refreshed for corporate stays and those travelling through Queensland.

Responsible for the international markets, Vernon is usually off in far-flung places, promoting Pacific Hotels and Australia to overseas agents. Always adapting, Vernon’s focus is making sure the brand stays top of mind for future tourism, as well as engaging with domestic partners closer to home.
