Following announcements from regional German authorities and their Austrian counterparts regarding the relaxation of lockdown measures, A-ROSA River Cruises has revealed its plans to restart selected departures on the Rhine and Danube by early June, if not before. The move follows the relaxation of rules regarding the opening of hotels, restaurants, river cruises and day cruises for tourists, which will come into effect in May.

Further information relating to cruises in France and Portugal will be announced in due course.

Joerg Eichler, CEO of A-ROSA River Cruises comments: “Following the long period of lockdown, we are delighted to be able to welcome our guests on board again and enable them to enjoy their holidays with us. It goes without saying that our primary responsibility is for the welfare of our guests and crew. Therefore, we have put together a team of experts, consisting of both internal and external hygiene and health specialists.”

Currently, the A-ROSA Care-Team is working on a hygiene and health concept that embraces the current safety measures and distancing regulations for our guests and our crew.

Birgit Eisbrenner, Regional Director Australia and New Zealand, says: “We are thrilled to be a beacon of hope for the industry in these unprecedented times. We know that the road to recovery will not be easy, but Aussies and Kiwis are very resilient travellers, eager to get going again. Coupled with the unmatched dedication, displayed by Travel Agents in this part of the world, I am confident that we can welcome Australians and New Zealanders back on our ships, as soon as travel restrictions here get lifted”.

A-ROSA is continually monitoring the requirement of the authorities in the various countries as they are constantly being adapted.
