Current US Open Grand Slam champion Bianca Andreescu, Spanish left-hander Fernando Verdasco, German legend Julia Goerges, American world ranked #24 Amanda Anisimova and Australian Ajla Tomljanovic will swap time on the court to try their hand as life drawing models next Thursday with Art Series Hotels.

Tiny tots donned in artist smocks from The Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne, neighbour to The Larwill Studio, will create portraits of the players striking various tennis poses.

The finished artworks will form a special exhibition displayed at The Larwill Studio for the duration of the Australian Open. Guests staying at the hotel will be encouraged to show their art appreciation upon check-in, placing a red dot on the piece they would happily hang in their own home.

For every red dot stickered, Art Series Hotels will make a donation to The Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation at the conclusion of the Australian Open.

Canadian teenager Bianca Andreescu continues her remarkable rise since clinching the first Grand Slam title of her fledgling career with victory over Serena Williams in the 2019 US Open final late last year.

Currently ranked #49 and a quarterfinalist at both the US Open (2009 and 2010) and Wimbledon (2013), Verdasco’s five set loss to countrymen, and eventual Australian Open champion, Rafael Nadal in 2009 is still considered one of the greatest Grand Slam semi-finals of all time.

Amanda Anisimova is currently ranked #24, recently reaching the semi-finals of the 2019 French Open.  Julia Goerges is currently ranked #28, and Ajla Tomljanovic ranked #51.

A number of international players traditionally stay with Art Series while competing at the Australian Open with this year no different.
