The US Capital Washington, DC is preparing to sparkle over the holiday season with multiple Christmas light up events and exhibits taking visitors on a journey of wonder and enchantment.

For the first time ever, Nationals Park in the Navy Yard neighbourhood of Washington, DC will host Enchant Christmas, as it transforms into the World’s Largest Christmas Light Maze and Market from 22 Nov to 29 Dec, 2019. As guests of Enchant, visitors are challenged to search the 90,000 square foot light maze for all nine of Santa’s reindeer.

Throughout the entire experience, guests will be dazzled by larger-than-life light displays, an ice skating trail, Santa’s landing, Mrs Claus reading nook, an Enchant cinema, a Christmas market, carol singers, and live entertainment. For art enthusiasts, the Georgetown Glow in DC’s oldest neighbourhood invites visitors to re-imagine the season of light through outdoor public art. Running nightly from 6 Dec to 5 Jan, Glow is free to the public, or visitors can book a walking tour package, where guides are on location to share stories about the historic streets and canal, industry and local residents from the past, and present.

Washington, DC’s famed Smithsonian museums are also a part of the light up holiday mix, with The National Zoo hosting ZooLights nightly from 29 Nov to 1 Jan. ZooLights is a free event showcasing more than 500,000 environmentally friendly LED lights transforming the Zoo into a winter wonderland, complete with two dazzling laser light shows set to music.

New this year is Entre Les Rangs, a luminous field of lights. This award winning exhibit features a field of lights appearing as wheat swaying in the breeze. Visitors can take a stroll through the field as the reflecting lights shimmer and sway.
