Malaysia Airlines, which currently has some hot fares to London in the market, has launched its Early Bird campaign with a bonus side-trip offering.
Fares from Australia to London start from AUD 1116 Economy Class or AUD 5658 Business Class with the choice to depart from Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney or Perth.
Travellers will need to book between 30 September – 31 October 2019 for travel between 1 April – 31 August 2020 to take advantage of the bonus side trip to explore more of Malaysia and its surrounding islands.
Destinations include Langkawi and Terengganu, perfect for complete tranquillity and pristine waters. For those seeking local culture, history and cuisine, there is Penang, Alor Setar, Kota Bharu, Johor Bharu and Kuantan.
According to the airline’s website, it is already offering very competitive return economy fares for travellers heading straight through from Australia to London Heathrow: namely AUD 1099 from Brisbane, AUD 1151 from Sydney, AUD 1126 from Melbourne, AUD 1076 from Perth and AUD 1132 from Adelaide.
The side-trips make the deals even better.
Travellers must book their Malaysia side trip together with the international flights in one single booking from Australia to London using the multi-city option on malaysiaairlines.com – or they can contact their nearest travel agent, the airline makes clear. Terms and conditions apply, but the airline is not making the Early Bird campaign a consumer-only initiative.
During this sale period, Malaysia Airlines will also be promoting other destinations with fares from AUD 565 to China.

NEW ROUTES TO SOLO AND PEKAN BARU, INDONESIA
Malaysia Airlines has announced the opening of its new routes to Solo and Pekanbaru, Indonesia, which will operate twice weekly.
Malaysia Airlines Group Chief Executive Officer, Izham Ismail said, “The launch of these new routes is led by the increasing demand for flights between Kuala Lumpur and Indonesia. Pekanbaru is the capital city of the Riau Province, which is an economic centre for the country. Solo, traditionally known as Surakarta, is the historic royal capital on the Indonesian island of Java. These routes will enable closer Indo-Malaysian relations, especially in their respective tourism industries.”
The new flights are also in line with the recent launch Visit Malaysia 2020 campaign, which promotes tourism as a pillar of the Malaysian economy.
Malaysia Airlines currently operates 61 weekly services from Australia & New Zealand to its hub in KL International Airport (KLIA), Kuala Lumpur. Beyond KLIA, Malaysia Airlines connects 62 destinations in 20 countries with a modern fleet of Airbus A380-800, A330-300, A330-200 and Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
