San Francisco International airportThe San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is celebrating a new international airline for the summer 2022 travel season! Condor, Germany’s most popular leisure airline, today announced plans to launch nonstop flights between Frankfurt and SFO beginning in May. Condor plans to operate flights three days per week, on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays using Boeing 767-300ER aircraft. The announcement included plans to serve 11 other U.S. destinations.
“We are honoured to be the Bay Area airport of choice for Condor’s upcoming service to the United States,” said Airport Director Ivar C. Satero. “As air travel continues to recover, we applaud airlines like Condor who share our confidence that this summer season will see the strongest level of international flight activity since the pandemic began. We are excited to showcase our world-class airport experience for the passengers of Condor.”
Formed in 1955 as a charter airline, Condor is Germany’s most popular airline. Every year, more than nine million guests fly with Condor from the nine largest airports in Germany, from Zurich in Switzerland and Vienna in Austria to around 90 destinations in Europe, Africa and North America. Condor operates a fleet of over 50 aircraft, which are maintained by the company’s own maintenance operation, Condor Technik GmbH, according to the highest safety standards at the Frankfurt and Dusseldorf locations.
