Nine new budget range overland tours to South America are now on offer with On The Go Tours, the award-winning tour operator specialising in locally-led group tours and tailor-made holidays.

For those that don’t know, overland tours mean travelling aboard large purpose-built trucks with all the equipment necessary for camping and cooking onboard.

“Overlanding is all about the journey and not just the destination” says On The Go Tours Global Head of Industry Sales, Dennis Basham.

“Australians have significantly matured as travellers who seek new and authentic travel experiences, and overland tours can offer just that” continues Basham.

Travellers can learn to cook in a Quechuan Village, white-water raft in the Sacred Valley or embark on an epic trek through the Andes. By getting off the beaten track and seeing the hidden gems as well as the highlights, this style of travel is perfect for the adventurous at heart.

“Group participation is one of the biggest aspects of overlanding. On our South America trips, you’re more than just an individual passenger and part of the wider team. You’ll help set up camp, shop for food and cook together.

“Our travellers find that the more they put into a trip, the more they get out of it.” Says Basham.

Destinations on offer include Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil, Chile, Argentina and Bolivia. These tours join an ever-expanding Budget portfolio, which already includes Africa, Southeast Asia, Egypt, Croatia, Jordan, China and Japan.
