Spread the love

Leading luxury travel company Abercrombie & Kent has just released its 2020 collection of shared adventures to the world’s most exquisite destinations. These are extraordinary small group journeys to destinations which are eternally appealing and spectacularly emerging. Inspired and highly experiential, they take travellers to the heart of a destination with the privilege of authentic, local access.

With nearly 60 years’ experience and 56 offices in its robust worldwide network, A&K is expertly positioned through its local connections and passionate travel specialists to take travellers down the road less travelled, devising unique, meticulously planned journeys into hard-to-reach places to commune with authentic cultures.

The different styles of small group journey

The 2020 compendium presents three types of small group journey. The first is the Limited Edition collection with 1 expert-led, shared adventures to more off-the-beaten-track destinations like Mongolia, Central Asia and Madagascar. These are designed for the more intrepid traveller and finely balance guided activity and educational elements with space for self-discovery and time at leisure.

The Luxury Small Group Journey category denotes trips to the world’s most iconic places which travel at a faster pace while still revealing the destination in depth thanks to illuminating expert guides. VIP Travelling Bellboys take care of all luggage logistics and complimentary laundry is offered midway through the trip.

The third style of journey is A&K’s Wings over the World which travels by chartered private plane to a variety of destinations including Spain and Morocco and Israel, Egypt and Jordan. This hassle-free style of travel avoids airport crowds, queues and restrictive commercial schedules.

All journeys are accompanied throughout by an A&K Resident Tour Director with guest numbers limited to a maximum of 18 on both ‘Limited Edition’ and ‘Luxury Small Group Journeys’ and 20 on Wings over the World.

What’s New?

This year, A&K has introduced the innovative Design Your Day concept to its group portfolio, giving guests greater choice and the ability to personalise certain days of their itinerary. For example, at Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Crater, guests can choose between a walk with a Maasai healer, high tea at a colonial coffee estate or a bike ride through local villages. And in Budapest, the choice between a food-inspired tasting exploration to local markets and providores or an Art Nouveau architecture focused walking tour. And in Shanghai, a heritage walk through the Jewish Quarter, a tour of the emerging West Bund art district or a street food jaunt. Design Your Day is a feature on nearly all journeys.
