American activist and whistleblower, Manning continues her fight with the controversy that follows her, over a year since former President Barack Obama commuted her 35 year prison sentence.

Manning was behind one of the biggest leaks in U.S. military history, being caught and handed the longest and most severe sentence for government whistleblowing to date. Convicted with leaking almost 750,000 classified documents, in 2010, Manning was sentenced to 35 years in prison. Formerly known as Bradley Manning, Chelsea has had a female gender identity from an early age and decided to transition whilst incarcerated. She was the first soldier to be granted hormone therapy whilst imprisoned.

Since appearing in international headlines, Manning has been awarded a plethora of accolades – including the “Whistleblower-Preis” by the German Section of the International Association of Lawyers against Nuclear Arms, the Sean MacBride Peace Prize by the International Peace Bureau and the EFF Pioneer Award. From doing hard time behind bars to getting swimsuit features in Vogue magazine, Manning continues to whistle-past-the-graveyard after being living proof there is a first time for everything.

Set to discuss her life, her time in prison, transgender issues, privacy, and Wikileaks – catch An evening with Chelsea Manning, a night with one of the most divisive figures of our time, blurring the line between a United States turncoat and hero – brought to you by Think Inc.
