The Yosemite Mariposa County Tourism Bureau and its digital agency, Noble Studios, took home two awards from the 2021 American Advertising Awards, also known as the ADDYs. The awards came in the Film, Video, & Sound and the Online/Interactive campaign categories.
The winning videos and campaigns came out of the Yosemite Mariposa County Tourism Bureau’s “Forever Yours” COVID-19 recovery campaign that was launched in June 2020 in conjunction with the reopening of Yosemite National Park in Mariposa County. YMCTB took gold for its “Forever Yours” internet commercial, which can be viewed by clicking the link here. The Forever Yours recovery campaign took silver at the ADDYs.
“It goes without saying that 2020 was a pretty horrible year, but it’s good to know that we might have made it better with a really strong recovery campaign to support safe and responsible tourism to our region,” said Yosemite Mariposa County Tourism Bureau communications manager, Tony McDaniel. “We’re happy to be honored with these awards, but the real prize is knowing that we, with the help of Noble Studios, created and executed a successful campaign that supported our local businesses and economy during a very difficult year. There’s still much work to be done to support our local tourism industry as the pandemic goes on and we’ll continue to produce award-winning campaigns and content to support safe, responsible visitation.”
Overall, the Forever Yours campaign promoted safe, socially distanced travel beginning in the summer of 2020 once Yosemite National Park reopened. The campaign strived to promote visitation to Yosemite and greater Mariposa County, by showcasing the region’s open spaces, outdoor activities and ability to safely recreate in a socially distanced manner.
YMCTB worked diligently to increase its video production in 2020 knowing that less-expensive earned content would be valuable to promote the destination in a period where there would be less funding to commit to digital advertising. The Forever Yours video was just one of the dozens of new videos created by the Yosemite Mariposa County Tourism Bureau.
