The Merlin Darwin Triple Crown just kicked up a gear with confirmation of the Night Transporter Convoy, driver signings and pit lane walk, plus the incredible Iron Horse J60 Jet Dragster added to the line-up. The full program of track timings for the 18-20 June 2021 weekend is also locked in.

The Night Transporter Convoy is always a favourite, with crowds lining the streets from Hidden Valley Motor Sports Complex to the Darwin CBD to see the transporters cruise by. It will take place on Wednesday, 16 June, and end with family entertainment in the city.

Fans can meet their Supercars and Australian Superbikes heroes at signings at Darwin Waterfront on Thursday, 17 June from 1-2 pm, and later that day at Mindil Beach Sunset Markets from 5.30-6.30pm. There will also be the chance to see display cars and buy merch and tickets. The documentary Challenge Accepted, about Hot Wheelz Stuntz hero Matt Mingay, who is part of this year’s Merlin Darwin Triple Crown, will air at the Mindil signing.

The much-loved pit lane walk returns in its usual format this year, and will take place on Saturday, 19 June at 7.50am. Here, fans get a sneak peek inside the team garages, and the opportunity to see the Supercars up close.

The incredible Iron Horse J60 Jet Dragster has been added to this year’s the line-up too, and will provide plenty of flame and noise thanks to its 17,300 RPM with afterburner.

Tim Watsford, CEO of event organiser Northern Territory Major Events, said the weekend was lining up to be the biggest ever.

“The Merlin Darwin Triple Crown is the biggest and best round on the Supercars schedule this year,” he said. “We’ve got so much packed into the three days, and Darwin will turn it on for visitors from around the country who head here to attend the event.”

There will be plenty of entertainment for the littlies over the weekend, including the Junior Racing Experience & Pit Stop Challenge, where children can take part in a simulated race, then be put through their paces during a mock-up tyre change. There will also be the bLU cRU Mini Moto, where kids can ride mini bikes on a safe, inflatable track.

All this plus the Supercars, Australian Superbikes and Stadium Super Trucks, support categories Improved Production, Commodore Cup and HQ Holden & Circuit Excel, Nitro Up North and the Saturday night concert featuring Bernard Fanning, Ball Park Music and Alice Ivy.

“Whether you’re a Supercars die-hard, a motorbike lover, all about the drags, keen to meet some drivers, watch some stunts, check out the transporters, catch the support categories or enjoy a cracking concert, we’ve got you covered,” Mr Watsford said.

Hospitality options continue to sell out for the event, with a new option added to cater for demand. The Terraces is a new suite for 2021 and tickets are available now.

“We’ve seen huge demand for hospitality tickets, in particular, so don’t miss out, grab your ticket today,” Mr Watsford said. “With this much on the line-up it’s sure to be a bumper crowd.”
