Starhotels Collezione has announced that it has progressed in its ambitious development and investment plans with the addition of Hotel Gabrielli in Venice to its portfolio of luxury hotels.The family-owned luxury hospitality group already includes the Splendid Venice, located between Rialto and Piazza San Marco, which is now joined by Hotel Gabrielli, a historic Venetian waterfront property that dates back to 1856. Hotel Gabrielli has been owned and managed by the Perkhofer family from its opening until now.
Starhotels Collezione has entered into a management agreement with the Perkhofer family that will guarantee Hotel Gabrielli’s continuity and tradition. The decision to pass the baton to Starhotels was determined by the Perkhofer family as both parties share the values of a historically family-run business. A €20 million restoration project is already underway, with the hotel set to reopen in Summer 2023 as a new five-star landmark in the lagoon city.
Hotel Gabrielli occupies an extraordinary location on Riva degli Schiavoni, a few steps away from Piazza San Marco, and has a breathtaking view of the island of San Giorgio Maggiore and the San Marco lagoon. The hotel occupies three historic buildings adorned with a unique 14th century Venetian-style façade and has 69 rooms and suites and seven serviced apartments. Hotel Gabrielli has a large 600 square meter garden and internal courtyards, spa, private dock, terrace with a spectacular view, a ballroom and a variety of food & beverage outlets.
