The NSW Accommodation Australia Awards for Excellence are recognised as the most prestigious hospitality and tourism awards in NSW, honouring the achievement of excellence in a wide range of categories.
Four new luxury lodges, situated in their very own eco-wilderness sanctuary at Bells at Killcare, opened in February 2024.
The Lodges each have gloroius panoramic ocean views and their very own heated magnesium plunge pool, two key points of difference to the existing room types at the property. The Lodges are tri-level, architecturally crafted to be unobtrusive in a lush, coastal, Angophora canopy, and are aptly named after the local surrounds of Ironstone, Banksia, Angophora and Bouddi. Each lodge comfortably sleeps 4 people in two king bedrooms, each with own luxurious ensuite opening out to an outdoor rain-room and double day bed. Upstairs is several living and outdoor areas, perfect for family travel, special occasions or small groups.
Bells at Killcare sits on an Ironstone ridge, and the area is surrounded by sandstone escarpments, so it was important to add earthy colours and textures to the design & build of The Lodges. The Lodges are also surrounded by Eucalypts, including ancient Angophora, so green tones are the new signature colours. Outside, is a combination of natural stone and timber, with the exterior timber cladding painted Dulux Mangrove and the exterior render Porters Jeep.
The 4 new luxury lodges, are in addition to the existing 25 cottages and suites on the property.
“We are excited to receive this wonderful award, an achievement that fills us with immense pride and gratitude. We would like to thank Accommodation Australia for the industry recognition and all of the entrants who do a such fabulous job within the sector. Especially to the wonderful St Hugh Hotel in Wagga, who was the runner-up in the category. We strive to reach our dreams of creating a truly world-class retreat, and aim to build on our strengths each year. We are so grateful to our hard-working and passionate team for being an integral part of our journey. This award, is the cherry on top!” Says Karina Barry, owner & founder.
Since opening 4 luxe new Lodges in February this year, Bells at Killcare have received consistent praise and highly commendable feedback from guests, something they are very proud to share.
“First impressions: Far beyond expectations. Simply driving into Bells’ elegant ironstone-boulder lined driveway and pulling up at the grand Manor House tells me we’re somewhere special. There are beautiful gardens all around and the premises have a distinct air of refined gentility. Our arrival experience soon takes on a magical quality as the Lodge manager Emma leads us into through the coded gateway constructed of century-old timber gateway and down a leafy path to The Lodges.” Bronwen Gora, Vacations & Travel Magazine
“The celebrated NSW Central Coast getaway expands its offering with the opening of four luxury lodges. With names like Bouddi (the national park surrounding Bells) and Banksia, the lodges’ interiors are inspired by the surrounding Killcare landscape and designed to bring you at one with nature. Each standalone lodge has three levels, with the ground floor hosting two king-sized bedrooms complete with ensuites and direct access to the pool and outdoor showers, as well as a small laundry room and bar area with a sink, fridge and outdoor entertaining essentials. A glass door opens to a pool area which features a barbecue, outdoor dining setting and glass-gated plunge pool and deck, flanked by two very comfy cabanas”. Vogue Living, Yeong Sassall.
