Birthday Welcome.Hughes, the number one name in luxury car hire, has been operating since 1904. To mark the birthday occasion, the parent company Equity Transport Group organized an exclusive birthday soiree inviting clients, the travel industry, chauffeurs, admin staff and media to a function in Sydney last week.

The Hyde Hacienda Bar was rocking with sweeping views of Sydney Harbour and the bridge. More than 100 guests were enjoying a never-ending stream of cocktails and canapes. Staff wearing readily identifiable chauffeur caps welcomed guests.

CEO Kent Joseph thanked clients and staff for their dedication and touched on the company’s AI move to automation processes. Chauffeur Ian Holmes was singled out for an award as the longest-serving employee, having served for 30 years. “Ï am about to turn 70 and would do it all again without hesitation, “he said. Chauffeurs who have served over ten years at the company were also recognized.

The Hughes company was born in Melbourne in 1904 when the horse-and-cart era boomed. They traded before driver’s licenses were required and before Qantas. The company has nine offices and 85 employees in Australia and is expanding into New Zealand. Last year, it conducted 1.2 million transfers and has a fleet of 1050 vehicles, from luxury sedans and SUVs to other transport, accommodating one to 61 guests.

The Sydney function follows a parallel celebration in Melbourne with a similar number of guests.

Hughes works closely with Emirates Airlines, transporting its elite passengers from home to the airport in all Australian capital cities.

Equity Transport Group is the parent group of Australia’s only fully national chauffeur company, Hughes—Australia’s Chauffeur Service. Hughes is the longest-serving chauffeur company in the world, operating since 1904.
