PATAIn an unparalleled move set to redefine the contours of the global travel and tourism industry, Bangkok, Thailand, has been announced as the prestigious venue for the PATA Travel Mart 2024. Scheduled for August 27-29 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC), this event marks a significant milestone in the Pacific Asia Travel Association’s (PATA) journey and its enduring relationship with Thai tourism.

For over 25 years, Thailand has been the proud home of PATA’s headquarters, a testament to the country’s pivotal role in shaping the future of travel in the Asia Pacific region. The upcoming 47th edition of the PATA Travel Mart (PTM) celebrates the symbiotic relationship fostered between PATA and the Thai tourism sector, underscored by the unwavering support of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau, and the PATA Thailand Chapter.

PATA Chair Peter Semone reflects on this journey, “Thailand’s selection as PATA’s base in 1998 was a strategic decision that has since yielded countless opportunities for growth and collaboration within the travel industry. The PTM 2024 is a celebration of this enduring partnership and the collective vision we share for the future of travel in the Asia Pacific.”

The PTM 2024 comes when the region’s travel and tourism industry is witnessing a remarkable resurgence. PATA CEO Noor Ahmad Hamid emphasizes the event’s significance, “With over 10,000 business appointments and participants from more than 40 destinations, the PTM 2024 is not just an event; it’s a confluence of opportunities for networking, collaboration, and capturing the pulse of the industry’s recovery.”

Thailand’s recent visa exemption policy for travellers from over 60 destinations and its record-breaking international visitor numbers in 2023 underscores its readiness to host the PTM. The event is poised to leverage Thailand’s status as a top MICE destination in Asia, celebrated for its world-class facilities, connectivity, and vibrant culture. The QSNCC, with its modern and sustainable design, epitomizes this, offering an ideal backdrop for the industry’s most forward-thinking minds to converge.

As the travel sector continues to evolve, the PTM 2024 promises to be more than just a trade exhibition. It is an invitation to be part of a movement towards sustainable, inclusive, and innovative tourism practices that will shape the future of travel in the Asia Pacific and beyond.

For those looking to be at the forefront of the travel industry’s transformation, the PATA Travel Mart 2024 is an event that cannot be missed. Registrations are now open; further details can be found on the official PATA website or by contacting PTM@PATA.org.
