Australia’s much-loved Italian restaurant brand, 400 Gradi, has expanded into the US market with the opening of a second restaurant in Texas.
Following the success of its first American venture in Dallas, a second US-based 400 Gradi venue has opened its doors, this time within the Texan city of McKinney. The 400 Gradi restaurant is located within a major development in McKinney named District 121, joining two of Dallas’ best known restaurant brands, Bob’s Steak and Mi Cocina. Centred near an office building and green space, the District 121 development acts as a magnet for business people within the area.
The opening of the second US based restaurant marks the next step in 400 Gradi’s ongoing expansion plans which has seen multiple venues open across Victoria and South Australia, as well as the creation and expansion of complementary brands Zero Gradi, and Gradi Mercato. Zero Gradi, traditional Italian gelato, forms part of the new 400 Gradi McKinney offering.
The original 400 Gradi venue in Dallas marked the group’s first ever location in the USA, and has consistently been ranked as one of the best in the city since opening in 2019. Translating his award-winning Neapolitan style pizza, authentic Italian cuisine, and Zero Gradi gelato to the American market, Johnny worked in partnership with US based CVD Developments LLC to take both his restaurant concepts to the USA.
A modern city that still embraces the southern charm of its location, McKinney has been touted as the best place to live in not just Texas, but the whole of the US, according to Money Magazine. With a strong economy, and a thriving cultural and leisure scene, and located just shy of 50km from Dallas, McKinney is considered a perfect getaway destination within Texas, boasting tree lined streets, a historic downtown centre, and a tight-knit, creative community.
