TravelManagers’ Alison Banks is a great believer in the adage: ‘If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together.” In her role as Business Partnership Manager (BPM) for Western Australia, Banks is regularly involved in providing personal travel managers (PTMs) in her state with opportunities to work collaboratively.
Along with TravelManagers’ other state-based BPMs, she has spent a busy but productive October organising and facilitating a variety of events across Australia.
National Business Partnership Manager, Julia McLean says TravelManagers’ ‘boots on the ground’ approach is a key component of its home-based travel advisor model, which enables PTMs to build individual, specialised businesses while benefiting from the support and security that comes from partnering with an established brand.
“We had a cross-section of PTMs – 64 in total – participate in a range of events throughout October. These included regional business development sessions, product and destination updates with suppliers, and systems training, all of which were facilitated by our dedicated BPM team.”
As part of the training sessions provided by its National Partnership Office (NPO) team, TravelManagers’ Cruise Product Manager, Lia Malone, delivered a multi-state program of cruise product training. She says she was delighted to see so many PTMs eager to brush up on their cruise expertise.
“I really love the format of our in-person training days,” she adds. “It’s very conversational, which allows PTMs to openly share their ideas – we all learn from each other.”
