The surge, quantified at an impressive 33%, has been recorded since the onslaught that shook the region on October 7th, 2023.
Dan Richards, the esteemed CEO of The Global Rescue Companies, a frontrunner in the provision of an extensive array of services, including medical aid, security, evacuation, and travel risk management, and a notable member of the U.S. Travel and Tourism Advisory Board at the U.S. Department of Commerce, shared invaluable insights on this alarming trend. “Post the attack, there has been a significant 33% increase in the procurement of our security services by travelers, compared to the preceding period,” Richards affirmed.
He continued, “The specter of terrorism and war casts a long shadow, not just on the immediate area of conflict, but it diminishes traveler confidence across the entire region. Travelers are now navigating through a dramatically altered risk landscape, and this is not just a localized phenomenon. We are witnessing a global escalation in traveler anxiety, with the most pronounced effects manifesting in the Middle East.”
As the situation continues to evolve and present challenges, Global Rescue remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring the safety of its members and other tourists caught in the turmoil. “Our security operations teams are fully mobilized, and we have already facilitated the safe evacuation of over 68 members.
