In an exhilarating development for Queensland’s bustling tourism sector, Brisbane Airport is on the verge of a monumental transformation with the imminent launch of numerous flight routes and augmented services in the upcoming month, setting the stage for a rejuvenated travel season.
The airport is poised to welcome an additional 1.3 million international seats over the next year, facilitated by introducing new services, the augmentation of existing routes, and a substantial increase in aircraft capacity. This influx coincides seamlessly with the commencement of the 2023 Northern Winter travel season, promising a vibrant and prosperous period ahead.
A significant resurgence has been witnessed in the International Terminal, with September recording a recovery of 81% of its pre-COVID-19 capacity. This figure is projected to escalate to a remarkable 90% by December, thanks to the launch of seven new routes and the expansion of several existing ones.
