Continuing its run of exciting new appointments, Daydream Island Resort and Living Reef is pleased to announce a bolstered Commercial Team with four new leaders joining the team – David Janz (General Manager Sales + Marketing) Tayla Scannell (Marketing Manager), Sarah Halliday (Business Development Director MICE) and Joseph Reaiche (Reservations Manager).

Leading the new-look Commercial team is David Janz who brings a wealth of experience to his new role as General Manager – Sales & Marketing including time with Starwood Hotels in Australia and the UK where he worked his way through the ranks to become Global Account Director before heading to W Bali as Director of Sales & Marketing.

After moving back to Sydney, he joined IHG Hotels & Resorts at InterContinental Sydney and InterContinental Double Bay before joining the Daydream Island Resort and Living Reef team earlier this year.

“I’m so excited to be part of the Daydream Island Resort and Living Reef team. The island has so much going for it which needs to be shared far and wide – from the 200m Living Reef, the amazing work our team is doing to protect the Reef, idyllic wedding chapel and event spaces, boundless energy of our General Manager and the incredible culinary vision of our Executive Chef, Craig Robertson,” David said.

Rounding out the new-look commercial team is Joseph Reaiche who joins as Reservations Manager after several years at Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park where he worked his way up the ranks to Duty Manager. He chose the role at Daydream Island because it provides the opportunity of working in a new environment while learning about the operations of an island-based resort.

Located in the heart of the Whitsundays, Daydream Island Resort and Living Reef features 240 rooms and suites with views across tropical gardens or the crystal clear waters of the Whitsundays. Guests are spoilt for choice with three onsite restaurants and bars and a range of activities to enjoy including swimming in the sprawling pools, exploring the coral beaches and embarking on rainforest treks.

With a strong commitment to marine conservation, Daydream island Resort and Living Reef is the only island in the Whitsundays to be awarded ECO TOURISM certification from Eco Tourism Australia and boasts one of Australia’s most unique reef experience with its amazing Living Reef which is home to over 100 species of sea creatures.
