Thredbo is excited to welcome guests to enjoy sunny days, non-stop events and fun skiing and snowboarding conditions this September.

The resort received a surprise dusting overnight with 3cm of fresh snow delighting guests who have woken up to a bluebird day and fresh tracks. The snow conditions are currently soft and forgiving across the mountain which is great for families, beginners and those who are looking to progress their turns. With bluebird days, suitable snowmaking temperatures and some more snow showers in the forecast, spring is shaping up to be lots of fun!

In addition to skiing and snowboarding, guests visiting Thredbo in September can look forward to enjoying a massive calendar of events with on-mountain action, kid’s festivals, live music and more.

September Events

September 1 – 2 | Monster Energy Bush Doof
This weekend, the Monster Energy Bush Doof hosted by Tess Coady will return to Thredbo, bringing a number of the world’s best snowboarders to the resort for two non-stop days of high-energy snowboarding and parties. Featuring a Shred Session with the Pros, a Challenger Jam, a Rail Jam and an official Bush Doof Party ft. LDRU, this weekend is action-packed from start to finish.

September 8 – 9 | Women’s Backcountry Weekend
Thredbo Backcountry Tours and The North Face have partnered to host this unique experience aimed at providing more women with the opportunity to develop skills beyond the resort boundaries and connect with like-minded people. Led by all-female guides, guests can choose between an Introduction to Backcountry tour and a Beyond the Boundaries tour to upskill and explore the beauty of the backcountry. In between adventures, there will be lots of time for attendees to get to know each other at social events in the evenings.

September 9 | Breast Cancer National Awareness Day
In honour of Breast Cancer National Awareness Day, Thredbo will be helping to raise awareness through a series of in-resort activities including snow sculptures, fireworks and activations

September 16 | First Base ft. Sneaky Sound System
The last of this season’s iconic First Base après ski party series, Canadian Club will be bringing Sneaky Sound System to Thredbo’s stage. A free event in the afternoon at Alpine Bar, dancing under the fireworks in Thredbo is an experience like no other.

September 22 – October 1 | September Kids Snow Festival
There’s something for everyone these September school holidays, with a mountain of terrain to explore, a huge lineup of free activities and plenty of après for mum and dad. Thredbo’s Kids Snow Festival is a favourite for kids of all ages with movie nights, special kids flare runs, loads of activities on and off the mountain plus lots more.

October 1 – Pond Skim And Spring Fling Closing Celebrations
Thredbo will be closing out the 2023 winter season with a bang on October 1. Kicking off with the hilarious Thredbo Pond Skim and rolling into a Hawaiian themed fiesta at Merritts Mountain House, there will be DJs, best dressed prizes and drink specials thanks to Pirate Life.
