Hotel Eden, Dorchester Collection’s hotel in Rome, is delighted to announce the Hybrida x Hotel Eden project. From Friday, June 23 to Sunday, August 27, the pop-up will showcase a collection of unique pieces and ceramics for sale, created by world-renowned architect Patricia Urquiola and Made in EDIT – an international residency and programme that connects international designers with Italian artisans.
Founded by Emilia Petruccelli, the owner of Galleria MIA in Rome, and Domitilla Dardi, an independent design historian and curator, Made in EDIT invited Patricia Urquiola to create a unique collection of porcelain pieces at Naples’ historic school specialising in ceramics, Istituto Superiore a Indirizzo Raro Caselli Real Fabbrica di Capodimonte, in 2020. This project, known as Hybrida, was inspired by the rich history of Capodimonte ceramics and the close woodland surrounding the school and museum. It aimed to rejuvenate the centuries’ old tradition of the ceramics, reinterpreting vases, cups, and centerpieces, by incorporating natural elements such as mosses, lichens, mushrooms, and tree fragments from the famous Parco della Reggia. These organic elements symbolise the harmonious coexistence of diverse species within the arts.
In line with Hotel Eden’s reputation for offering guests a unique cultural experience within the heart of Rome, La Libreria will host a special pop-up Hybrida x Hotel Eden project ; which breathes new life into a thousand-year-old tradition, demonstrating a seamless combination of tradition with contemporary design.
The exhibition will be open to the public until August 27, 2023, in La Libreria at Hotel Eden Rome, and the collection will be on sale for design lovers and art collectors.
