Copenhagen’s Cathrine Seidel Tvede takes over from Madrid’s Reyes López GarciaBestCities Global Alliance is pleased to welcome Cathrine Seidel Tvede, senior bid manager – congress at the Copenhagen Convention Bureau, as new chairperson for the BestCities Global Alliance Strategic Business Development group (SBD). Cathrine will take over from Reyes López Garcia of the Madrid Convention Bureau.

Playing an important role in growing BestCities’ impact and reputation, Cathrine has more than 15 years of experience in the global meetings industry and oversees business development activities in North America and Europe. Along with international bidding, Cathrine is involved in various projects such as the Copenhagen Future Scenarios, which was launched at the BestCities Global Forum in 2019. She also lends her expertise to industry-boosting projects that focus on upskilling the local workforce and promoting health and safety in meetings.

Cathrine takes on her new role at an exciting time for BestCities, as the alliance, in partnership with ICCA, introduces a new model for its Incredible Impacts Programme, and gears up for the annual BestCities Global Forum, which will take place in Melbourne in January 2024.

“I am very excited to take on the role of Chair of the Strategic Business Development Group,” said Cathrine. “Together with the Global Forum host and incoming Chairperson, I am thrilled to continue delivering and shaping BestCities’ now must-attend event, the Global Forum, as well as boosting our knowledge-sharing actions and impact, legacy and sustainability initiatives.”
