Riverland Wine is excited to be participating in Vinexpo Asia, kicking off tomorrow in Singapore and running until 25th May. Joining Riverland Wine on the Wine Australia stand is Mallee Estate, Oxford Landing, Starrs Reach, Ricca Terra and The Wacky Wine Grape Co. with their Paper Mache brand.
Vinexpo Asia is the most influential wine trade fair for wine and spirits professionals in the Asia-Pacific region, with over 8000 visitors expected. The three-day trade event will provide an opportunity for Riverland Wine to showcase a range of diverse and exciting Riverland wines to the influential buyers, importers, distributors, producers, media, sommeliers and merchants across the world.
As one of Australia’s most important wine regions, Riverland Wine is proud to be representing the Riverland region alongside some of their passionate producers who are flying the flag for emerging varieties, organics, new wave styles, and sustainable winemaking practices.
The trip to Vinexpo Asia follows a successful visit to ProWein in Düsseldorf Germany in March and is part of the Riverland Uprising program; an industry-led domestic and international program aimed at building the reputation of the Riverland as a producer of quality and exciting Geographical Indication (GI) wines.
This activity has been made possible through funding from the Government of South Australia’s Project 250, a partnership with the South Australian Wine Industry Association which provides $250,000 a year until 2026 for wine industry development initiatives.
The Hon. Clare Scriven MLC, Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development is a supporter of the Riverland wine region, saying “Riverland wine is the backbone of the South Australian wine industry.
Along with the Murraylands, it is home to more than 60% of the state’s wine grape production and is the largest wine region, by volume, in Australia. Now, this vital region is facing challenges, but the Government of South Australia continues to support Riverland grape growers and winemakers to return to full strength.
Diversification through exposure to new markets will be important in this recovery. I am pleased these major international events will be shining a light on and finding new audiences for Riverland wine.”
Riverland Wine Executive Officer Lyndall Rowe is in Singapore setting up ahead of Vinexpo Asia and is looking forward to the opportunities it will offer the region. “I’m thrilled to be in Singapore and am looking forward to showcasing some of the best wines from the Riverland on our stand, as well as at our Masterclass ‘Wines your dad didn’t drink’. This is a brilliant opportunity for us to highlight the regions’ quality, diversity, and commitment to sustainability, and capture the attention of the world. It’s time to think differently about Riverland wines.”
Riverland Wine will be on the Wine Australia stand – B2 Q005, at booth 22.
Riverland Wine Masterclass “Wines your dad didn’t drink”, Wednesday 24th May, 13:00 – 14:00.
