As we enter the fourth quarter of 2022, Aman is proud to offer a distinctly varied range of wellbeing programmes, each holistically designed to suit a different definition of wellness. From an advanced yoga retreat in Rajasthan and triathlon training in Phuket, to realignment Pilates, football clinics and stress management in the Turks and Caicos, there is an Aman retreat or experience available in the coming months that will speak to the soul of every person looking to see out 2022 in their best-ever state of body and mind.

Amanbagh, India

Advanced Yoga Retreat (14-21 October)

A secluded sanctuary in the Aravalli Hills of rural Rajasthan, Amanbagh’s towering palms and eucalyptus trees welcome guests into a hidden oasis. Meaning ‘peaceful garden’ in Sanskrit, Amanbagh offers a seven-night Advanced Yoga Retreat for intermediate and advanced yoga practitioners in its verdant embrace this October. Created for those familiar with the practice, this retreat will be led by Sushant Pandey and Jiten Bhatt, who will share their deep understanding of the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of this ancient healing art.

Coinciding with the Navaratri Festival, held in honour of the divine feminine, each day of the retreat follows one of the nine methods of worship of the Goddess Durga, in line with local celebrations. On arrival at Amanbagh, guests will receive an Ayurvedic herbal shot to re-energise and a 60-minute full-body massage to release tension from the drive to the resort. Group yoga sessions will be held every day throughout the retreat and will focus on twelve different Pranayama practices and multiple advanced yoga poses. Daily meditation sessions will introduce and practice four different types of meditation.

Guests also have the opportunity to explore Rajasthan’s pink and blue cities of Jaipur and Jodhpur, ancient forts, serene lakes and the region’s tiger-inhabited wilds during the retreat. Daily cultural excursions include a cycle ride to a nearby gwara (a small village), a trek to Somsagar Lake, a trip to Sariska Tiger Reserve, a visit to the Neelkanth and Narayani Mata Temples, and an excursion to Bhangarh Fort. Every evening, a soothing herbal bath will be drawn in the privacy of guest pavilions to comfort weary muscles. All meals served during the retreat will follow a bespoke nutrition plan based on a Sattvic diet, with a focus on the fresh produce from the resort’s organic garden.

The seven-night retreat includes all meals, a full-body massage and an orientation workshop on the day of arrival, as well as daily guided group yoga and meditation sessions, Ayurvedic spa treatments, cultural excursions, educational talks, self-study time (material provided), and a final evaluation and one-on-one catch up with the Yoga Master prior to departure.

Amanyara, Turks & Caicos

Align & Restore Pilates Retreat (2-6 November)

Amanyara enjoys a pristine coastal setting where relaxation and wellness go hand in hand. Home to an extensive Aman Spa the property also has a comprehensive Pilates studio in collaboration with renowned Pilates expert, Erika Bloom. This November, Erika will return once again to Amanyara to share her unique approach to Pilates in a new, four-night Align & Restore Retreat.

A pioneer in the industry with studios in Manhattan, Greenwich and the Hamptons, Erika is a former professional dancer who has been studying Pilates and numerous other therapies for almost 30 years. With a loyal following of revered clientele across the US, mindful movement is a key element of Erika’s holistic approach to wellness. With her new retreat at Amanyara, Erika will invite participants to find a renewed sense of peace, calm and connection. Through a combination of expert daily movement sessions, spa treatments, group classes and leisure time on the resort’s pristine beach, individuals of all abilities will rediscover their innate ability to move with ease, in turn creating lasting change.

Each four-night retreat includes all meals and return airport transfers alongside a wellness consultation and Acugraph assessment on the day of arrival, one 60-minute Aman signature massage, daily sessions with Erika Bloom, and access to a variety of daily wellness orientated group classes including yoga, tennis and movement.

Amanpuri, Thailand

The Laguna Phuket Triathlon Retreat (17-22 November)

Amanpuri in Phuket has long served as a sanctuary for those seeking a positive shift in both mental and physical wellbeing. This November, the resort offers a five-night Laguna Phuket Triathlon Retreat, designed specifically for athletes competing in Asia’s longest running triathlon on 20 November. Aiming to achieve peak physical health ahead of the event and the ideal recovery thereafter, the retreat begins three days before the triathlon and features a bespoke, full-board itinerary to prepare individuals for the challenge.

On arrival, each guest receives a 3D scan and a consultation with a physiotherapist. Over the next few days, they will access the resort’s extensive hydrotherapy facilities and be encouraged to relax on the beach or in the Aman Wellness Centre. Stretching sessions and guided practice bike rides along the event course ahead of the triathlon are also included. The day before the event, the Amanpuri team will seamlessly handle all preparation required, including transportation to the event site for race pack collection, bike registration and pre-race briefing. On the eve of the triathlon, participants enjoy an early dinner, as well as a special turndown service including bedtime gifts of sleep-improving oils and a sleep mask.

On race day, a photographer will be provided by the resort and all photographs taken will be printed, framed and presented upon departure. Following the triathlon, guests are offered a session with a doctor and an IV energy-boosting drip to restore the body to optimal health.

Each five-night retreat includes a bespoke meal plan incorporating key nutrients and carbohydrates, a 30-minute wellness orientation, a 3D scan and a 30-minute consultation with a physiotherapist. The retreat also includes two 30-minute stretching sessions, a 90-minute guided cycling in nature experience or a guided practice bike ride on the triathlon course ahead of the event, and a post-race consultation with a doctor and an energy-boosting IV drip. In addition, guests will be offered a 90-minute Aman Signature Massage, two 90-minute Deep Tissue Massages, a 90-minute Deep Tissue or Foot Massage or a 60-minute physiotherapy session, and a 90-minute Thai Massage at The Aman Spa. Each retreat will also include two 60-minute beach yoga sessions.

Amanpulo, Philippines

Extreme Water Sports Retreat (1-22 December)

Claiming the entirety of Pamalican Island in the Philippines, Amanpulo is a private retreat with a jungle-clad heart fringed by kilometres of white coral sand. Accessible by private plane from Manila, the resort offers a secluded escape that feels a world away from anywhere. The three-night Extreme Water Sports Retreat is available throughout December for fitness enthusiasts and, in keeping with the island’s relaxed approach, itineraries can be tailored so that guests can be as active as they wish. During the retreat, guests can participate in numerous challenges, testing their body’s limits whilst expanding their lungs and absorbing the healing qualities of Amanpulo’s natural surroundings.

On land, enjoy a 3.4-mile beach run along the island’s golden shores and a two-hour hike to the summit of Mount English, located on nearby Manamoc Island. Amanpulo also offers a jungle workout trail. Woven into the trees and designed to challenge strength and coordination, the trail comprises 13 obstacles ranging from monkey bars and a tyre run, to a rope and wall climb.

Off-shore, an open water island-to-island swim offers a rewarding way to meet the community on the neighbouring island of Manamoc. Keen kitesurfers can head to the eastern coast of Pamalican Island, to Amanpulo’s Kite & Surf Centre. Located to take advantage of the north-easterly wind, known locally as Amihan, the resort’s professional kitesurf instructors offer introductory lessons or advanced coaching. Amanpulo’s PADI dive centre offers scuba diving courses for all levels and freediving excursions. During these excursions, guests will be guided into the depths of the sea in search of natural treasures and vibrant marine life. Above water make use of the resort’s watersports equipment, including pedalboards that strengthen core muscles and improve balance.

Each three-night retreat includes daily breakfast, a beach run, a jungle run, a Sunset Breeze yoga session, a Sunset Yin yoga session, a scuba diving excursion, a hike to Mount English, a 50-minute Holistic Massage, an open sea swim, a kitesurfing session, a freediving excursion and daily group wellness activities. All activities are guided by expert instructors.

Mindfulness & Stress Management Immersion (1-4 December)

Ensure the most relaxed festive season yet by taking time out at Amanyara before it begins. The three-night immersion taking place from 1 – 4 December focuses on stress management and will be offered again in June and September next year. Each day includes a one-hour morning session in which a different aspect of stress and its management is tackled in theory. Then in the afternoon, a one-hour practical session puts what you have learnt into practice through different types of meditation, breathwork and relaxation techniques.

From discovering what stress is and its effects on the mind and body, to learning more about life management and mind mapping and Eastern philosophies around balance living, this focused retreat creates a feeling of calm, more in control and ready to face the year-end with enthusiasm and anticipation for what is to come. Deeply relaxing and rejuvenating spa treatments clear the effects of stress and tension from the physical body. Movement and Mindfulness sessions such as Tai Chi and Qi Gong, yoga, traditional breathwork, and meditation work deeply to connect the body and mind and specialist sessions and complementary therapies assist each guest in soothing their central nervous system to restore optimal health and wellbeing.

The four-night immersion includes one 30-minute arrival consultation on day of arrival, a daily 60-minute private movement session (including yoga, Pilates and fitness training), a daily 60-minute spa or holistic treatment, a daily 60-minute treatment with Amanyara’s wellness specialist, an in-room wellness minibar, access to the resort’s serenity room, one 30-minute departure consultation, and return airport transfers.

Amanyara Legends Programme (24-26 November)

Perfectly timed with the FIFA World Cup, the Amanyara Legends Programme continues its series of clinics with icons in the world of sports this November. Following on from the success of clinics led by professional tennis star, Maria Sharapova, and NFL superstars Cody Barton of the Seattle Seahawks and Asante Samuel Jr. of the Los Angeles Chargers, Amanyara will welcome football professionals, Kieran Gibbs and Blaise Matuidi, to share their talents on the field, with a series of clinics to help guests improve their skills.

British professional player, Kieran Gibbs, began his career at Arsenal, making his professional debut in 2007. He has made over 200 appearances for the team, including 39 in the UEFA Champions League. French professional, Blaise Mauidi, made 295 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain and was part of the winning team of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Over the course of three days, participants will gather at 2pm at Amanyara’s state of the art Clubhouse to watch three exciting World Cup matches with Gibbs and Mauidi. These watch parties will see Brazil play Serbia on Thursday, 24 November, USA play England on 25 November, and Argentina play Mexico on 26 November. After each match from 4.30pm, Gibbs and Mauidi will run a 60-minute clinic to demonstrate and teach some of the skills and tactics witnessed on screen. Open to children and adults alike, the clinics are available to a maximum of 14 individuals, ensuring plenty of one-on-one engagement with professional coaches. A cocktail reception after the final clinic will round off the programme.

Amanpulo, Philippines

Visiting Specialist, Tania Balasch (from September 2022)

A dynamic process of change and growth, wellness is often described as a balance of complete physical, mental

and social wellbeing. In Amanpulo’s private island setting, surrounded by white sand beaches and pristine waters, guests are invited to encourage this process with the help of visiting specialist, Tania Balasch. Taking residency at the resort for the coming season, Tania, an international holistic health coach, yoga instructor, and healthy lifestyle educator, will conduct special sessions for guests seeking to discover wellness therapies and fitness modalities that aim to enable natural healing. Ranging from classic mat Pilates to fascial stretching – a technique designed to release back pain, sciatica and neck pain – Tania’s sessions work to educate and equip guests with the necessary tools to achieve a happy, balanced lifestyle when they return home.

Drawing on her experience as a plant-based chef, Tania will also host Amanpulo’s new Eat-to-Bloom programme that focuses on the nourishment of body, mind, and spirit. Available throughout the season, guests will be invited to follow a custom plant-based diet will be designed along with daily exercises and meditation to inspire a healthy lifestyle and achieve their fitness goals. For a full immersion, cooking classes and wellness sessions are based around Amanpulo’s organic farm and Spa. The programme also includes a 90-minute nutrition workshop and cooking class, a 60-minute fitness movement class and a 60-minute mindful movement class.
