Travel is well and truly back on the cards, and a stark rise in environmental awareness in recent years has caused a growing number of individuals to return to the joys of travel with a much more sustainable and conscious mindset.

To celebrate World Tourism Day 2022, YHA Australia has teamed up with Sustainable Travel International to create an 8-minute film as part of the broader ‘Sustainable Travel: Where Next?’ series.

The film showcases a behind the scenes look at the sustainability efforts and regenerative practices of two contrasting YHA properties in NSW: Sydney Harbour YHA – The Rocks and Sydney Pittwater Eco YHA.

You can watch the full YHA film here, and learn more about the collaboration via the YHA website.

This seamless collaboration with Sustainable Travel International emerged early this year as a result of YHA’s regenerative travel strategy, and YHA is proudly the only not-for-profit travel organisation in Australia to have been selected to take part in this series. Also selected to take part in this series was Tourism Australia.

YHA’s steadfast commitment to teaching guests’ easy ways to travel responsibly has been at the forefront of its wider mission in supporting sustainable travel since the very first YHA property was founded in the 1932.

The ‘Sustainable Travel: Where Next?’ series takes viewers on a journey that explores various sustainability initiatives transforming tourism across the globe, and highlights efforts by the travel and tourism sector that are protecting our planet and its treasured destinations.
