As we know, there have been many upgrades and developments in cruise ships over the last two years, probably the most innovative of the cruise lines being Celebrity Cruises. This didn’t happen overnight or due to the pandemic. Celebrity’s look into the future took years of planning, from first sketches to experiencing designs in a virtual reality setting in 3D to ensure real-time perfection.

This Celebrity Edge series has three innovative ships (approx. 3000 guests) and has put Celebrity into a special class. Everything about the ‘Edge’ design is a revolution: from Infinite Verandahs, where, by the press of a button, the living space transforms into a balcony, to a cantilevered floating platform on the edge of the ship that soars up to 13 storeys and transforms function as it moves between decks. The Grand Plaza has a 7-tonne chandelier, and the Eden has three levels of windows, lush greenery, and al fresco dining in its 11,800 sq ft space.
The outward-facing Pool Deck is a stunning asymmetrical space with the pool featuring in-pool loungers and two-story martinin hot tubs.

Then there is the spacious Roof Top Garden perfect for chilling out, casual grazing, listening to live entertainment, dancing the night away, or enjoying the open space. Of course, there is an adults-only solarium with eight distinctive therapy treatments and, to top it off, a Michelin epicurean journey. In a nutshell, you will want to look for those ‘days at sea’ for time to enjoy these facilities.

And suppose ‘big’ is not your thing. In that case, Celebrity also provides that extra level of luxury with the introduction of The Retreat with its state-of-the-art accommodation, private restaurant, exclusive lounge and sundeck and every amenity you can imagine. This gives guests the added advantage of intimate sailing yet being on a ship with many more facilities and activities not typical on smaller ships, so they can have the best of both worlds. The retreat has also been introduced to 4 other ships in the Celebrity fleet in addition to the edge series.

A ‘Destination experience more immersive starts right on board.’
