The Australian Tourism Industry Council has welcomed today’s announcement of Senator Don Farrell as the new Federal Minister for Tourism and Trade.
ATIC is looking forward to working with Senator Farrell to implement the new governments $48 million tourism election commitments, particularly developing the Quality Tourism Framework to assist businesses to develop and recover by providing mentoring, support and specialised programs. 
“The Australian Tourism Industry Council has worked closely with Senator Farrell as opposition tourism spokesperson and look forward to working with the new minister to deliver the governments $48 million tourism package” said Evan Hall, Chair of the Australian Tourism Industry Council.
“ATIC will work with the new government to assist small and regional tourism businesses to develop high quality tourism product and to recover from the impacts of COVID. “
Mr Hall said tourism is a valuable contributor to our economy and is delighted that the tourism portfolio is aligned with trade in a senior cabinet position.
 “The appointment of Senator Farrell to the cabinet in the tourism portfolio, and the alignment with the trade portfolio, is welcome as Australia rebuilds its visitor economy,” Mr Hall said.
