Spread the love

With Easter just around the corner Thredbo has launched its jam-packed calendar for the Easter Adventure Carnival, with the two-week celebration kicking off on 9 April. The Carnival is a favourite for families from around the region and afar, offering a variety of family-friendly activities across the school holidays. This year will see all of the much-loved activities back, including kids’ bike races, arts & crafts, tree planting and more.
No Easter event is complete without a visit from the bunny himself. The Easter Bunny will be bouncing into town on Easter Sunday to pay families a special visit and hand out some Lindt chocolatey goodness.
Kids can learn the circus ways at one of the free Flying Fruit Fly Circus 30-minute workshops or challenge their friends and family in Nature Bingo. Thredbo will also be running its daily Amazing Race, Bike Challenge and Hike challenge, giving kids the chance to play detective in the mountains. The kid’s movies nights are the perfect time for the whole family to relax. While the young ones settle into a movie, mum and dad can rewind in one of Thredbo’s many bars and restaurants.
Thredbo’s state of-the-art Merritts Gondola will be operating all school holidays, transporting guests to the top in just six minutes via comfortable European-style cabins. Over the Easter weekend, guests will have a chance to win a Lindt basket of chocolate goodies on randomly selected gondola cabins.
There will be daily face painting, arts and crafts and giant games on offer, and over the Easter long weekend guests can enjoy live music and entertainment featuring some of Australia’s best artists.
Thredbo is home to Australia’s only lift-accessed mountain bike park offering over 35kms of mountain bike trails for all ages and abilities. Guests can learn the basics of mountain bike riding at the Thredbo MTB School before progressing to the resort’s newest beginner gravity mountain bike trail, Sidewinder.
Thredbo’s guided hike program is a great way to experience Australia’s highest mountains located deep in the unique Snowy Mountains. During these school holidays, families can tick off a bucket list item by summiting the country’s tallest peak, Mt Kosciuszko.
Additional activities include Mission Inflatable and waterslide rides at the Thredbo Leisure Centre, guided hikes, alpine bobsled rides and mountain bike clinics. A free courtesy bus will operate from Friday Flat to the Information Centre and return throughout the Carnival.
