Ipswich is getting ready for the Easter holidays and there are many exciting events planned.
Koalas at Haigslea Ewe Nique Hobby Farm.
The farm will have a koala available for pats and photos on April 5 and April 17 in the 9am and 10.30am sessions. The koalas are also available to be booked for birthday parties. Bookings are essential
Under construction at The Workshops Rail Museum
The Workshops Rail Museum is hosting Under Construction from April 2-18. This school holiday program has a range of exciting engineering challenges.
They are also holding construct a cupcake workshops for $5.50 at the café, which gets you a kit with cupcake, icing and sweets to decorate.
See Bluey and Bingo in a live interactive experience on Friday April 8
Bluey and Bingo are coming to the Nicholas St Precinct for two live interactive shows from 10am.
A 22m roller skating rink is coming to Riverlink.
From April 4 -18 you can skate at Riverlink, roller skates are available to hire too!
Summer Land Camels Autumn markets and Little Humpty Day
Enjoy the free country markets with entertainment and Scenic Rim producers and businesses from 8am-2pm on Saturday April 2.
The camel farm will also be holding a Little Children’s Humpty Day on Wednesday April 6 from 9am-2pm. Kids are encouraged to dress like a farmer, they will get to tour the farm and meet the camels.
Cooneana’s Back in Time family fun day
Learn to weave, make a collage or a peg doll and watch the blacksmiths in action. Take the kids on an old school carousel ride and see mini crafters creating model buildings. Make butter to enjoy with damper and play old fashioned games like sack races, tic-tac-toe and more!
Easter markets
My Local Market at Walloon will be held on April 3 at the back of the Walloon pub.
Springfield Markets at Robelle will be held on April 3, kids will love a play at the Ripley Splash ‘n’ Play adjacent.
The Handmade Market will be held on Saturday April 9.Enjoy stalls of handmade products, enjoy the free water play area, entertainment, face painting, food trucks.
Markets on Main Street Springfield will be held on April 17 – the Easter Bunny is set to make an appearance

Ipswich is open for business
While the flood did impact a lot of homes and businesses in Ipswich, most of our tourism experiences, hospitality providers and attractions are open and ready to be explored.
Some nature trails will remain closed until the ground dries up including Flinders Peak and Hardings Paddock.
The Haigslea Ewe Nique Hobby Farm will be closed until March 19 while the access road is being fixed.
The road into Pocket Retreats was damaged, but bookings are being taken for stays and the council is working to fix the road.
Floating Images will resume balloon flights on March 11.
V8 Race Experiences will resume on March 13.
Memories of India have finished their clean up and are trading again now. No other tourism or hospitality businesses remain closed apart from those mentioned.
A story on channel 7’s Weekender will air this weekend, promoting a foodie weekend in Ipswich highlighting some of the amazing produce in the area and to help boost the Ipswich is open for business message.

New exhibitions roll into town
Two new exhibitions have opened at the Ipswich Art Gallery. The first called Heart of the Tree: New Work by Terry Martin. The exhibition runs until April 18 and presents a selection of turned timber vessels and sculptures – each paying homage to the tree from which it was formed by highlighting the unique character and grain of its timber.
The second is Ink in the Lines. It showcases tattoos and the stories behind them from Australia’s modern veterans and their families.

The Soul Nook Collective is turning 2!

4 Hearts beer win
Six 4 Hearts Brewing Company beers have won medals at the 2022 Royal Queensland Beer Awards. Supermodel Pale Ale won a gold, Laneway Haze and Raspberry Doughnut Sour won silver and XPA 88, Sunshine Lager and Kickback Red IPA won bronze.

The Gulf Western Oil Super Thunder event will see the launch of Top Fuel Funny Car into the 400 Thunder Drag Racing Series.
See Pro Alcohol, Pro Slammer, Top Fuel Motorcycle, Pro Stock, Pro Stock Bike and Pro Mod racing. And a huge field of local and interstate racers hit the black top, hoping to gain championship points early in competition.
