In celebration of Easter, Caterina Murino, the acclaimed actress, jewellery designer and Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group Fan, has teamed up with Mandarin Oriental, Paris Pastry Chef Adrien Bozzolo. Their creation? A spectacular and delightful chocolate Easter egg with an egg-shaped filigree pendant inside.
All profits from the sale of these elegant Easter eggs will be donated to Amref Health Africa, Africa’s leading health non-governmental organisation (NGO), of which Caterina is the godmother.
On her travels as a Fan of Mandarin Oriental hotels, Caterina met Chef Adrien in Paris. The two artists inspired each other to design a unique tribute to Easter in this romantic city.
The result is extraordinary. Influenced by the work of ancient artisans from her beloved Sardinia, Caterina has designed and created an egg-shaped pendant in silver filigree. Among this limited-edition collection, is an exceptional single copy of the pendant crafted in pink gold and set with a sapphire.
For his part, Chef Adrien took inspiration from the refined design of the jewel to create a delicate egg-shaped sculpture in pure Madagascan chocolate. Behind this, a chocolate egg is standing on a crispy hazelnut and fleur de sel praline cushion. The precious pendant is hidden inside the egg, the base of which is filled with small chocolate candies made with Sardinian myrtle liqueur.
Caterina has been godmother to Amref Health Africa since 2006. She is also their spokesperson for the international campaign “Stand Up for African Mothers”, which aims to train 15,000 African midwives to fight against maternal mortality. Mandarin Oriental, Paris is pleased to support Caterina’s commitment to this worthy cause by donating all profits from the sale of the Easter egg to Amref.
The limited-edition Easter egg with silver pendant will be available from 10 to 18 April 2022 for EUR 120; the egg enclosing a pink gold pendant will be on sale for EUR 720 and the eggs are hand-crafted for each order.
