Phoenix Airport Museum Presents Exhibition on Local Muralists
Street art moves indoors with the latest Phoenix Airport Museum exhibition, From Studio to Street, featuring artwork by nine artists who have enhanced our city with larger-than-life murals. From desert plant life to Chicano culture to surreal portraits, these artists have brought new life to blank city walls with color, character and local flavor. This exhibition includes artworks on canvas, skateboards and even a fence panel that were all created in an indoor studio setting. Each of the eight display cases features one artist’s work along with information on where to find murals by that artist. The text panel also includes a QR code to an interactive mural map – inviting locals and travelers alike to explore accessible art in Phoenix. From Studio to Street is on view in Terminal 4, level 3 in eight display cases on the east and west ends through May 2022.

Arizona Eateries Cook Up Sweet Treats for Girl Scout Cookie Dessert Challenge
Girl Scouts in Arizona participate in the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world: The Girl Scout Cookie Program. This year, the cookie season for the Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus-Pine Council (GSACPC) takes place Jan. 17 to Feb. 27, 2022. To celebrate and support the local cookie season, the Girl Scout Cookie Dessert Challenge is back for its eighth year from Feb 1-28, 2022. Through it, 20 esteemed chefs from venues throughout central and northern Arizona participate in this year’s friendly competition to create a winning dessert with one of these Girl Scout Cookies: Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Do-Si-Dos, Trefoils or Lemon-Ups.  A couple of examples of this year’s competitors – and their tasty creations – are:
Geordie’s at Wrigley Mansion – Phoenix – Peanut Butter and Jelly – Cookie: Trefoils
This peanut butter mousse with a strawberry gelée center is surrounded by a Girl Scout Trefoil crumble, peanut caramel and fresh blueberries and strawberries. It also has a cocoa glaze and is garnished with a chocolate tuile.
Lumberyard Brewing Company – Flagstaff – Strawberry Shortcake Jar – Cookie: Trefoils
This vanilla pudding is amped up by the addition of Girl Scout Trefoils and fresh strawberries, which are all layered in a mason jar and topped with whipped cream.
Nook Kitchen – Phoenix – Don’t Mind If I Do – Cookie: Do-Si-Dos
Peanut butter panna cotta with Girl Scout Do-si-dos and oatmeal cookie crumbles. It is paired with banana cream and banana fries.
Proof Canteen at the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale – Peppermint Brownie Dream – Cookie: Thin Mints
This indulgent dessert starts with a fudgy double chocolate brownie. It is then layered with Girl Scout Thin Mints, peppermint cremeux (which is a smoother take on mousse) and brûléed marshmallows.
