Ian Wall AM and Pamela Wall OAM…Adelaide Festival CentreThe gift of the arts will be delivered to tens of thousands of South Australian children and teens over many years, thanks to the generosity of Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation donors and South Australian philanthropists Ian Wall AM and Pamela Wall OAM.

The donation of $1 million will be used to create a perpetual endowment fund to support children and student art experiences forever, including $100,000 towards supporting the new Children’s Artspace gallery to open in February 2022 at Adelaide Festival Centre’s Artspace venue.

The Ian and Pamela Wall Fund will support Adelaide Festival Centre’s many children, youth, and family programs by offering new scholarships for young people to gain experience in the performing and visual arts sectors, ticket and transport subsidies for shows and festivals and funding for children to experience the transformational gift of the arts at Adelaide Festival Centre.

Projects also include funding arts education experiences for children and youth from birth through to 18 years of age, regional children and youth programs and equitable access to the arts for children and youth from equity schools through Adelaide Festival Centre’s CentrED program.

Ian and Pamela Wall are Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation’s most significant donors, also making a significant contribution toward the Ian and Pamela Wall Gallery at Her Majesty’s Theatre, which was opened to the public earlier this year.

Ian Wall AM and Pamela Wall OAM said: “The arts are such an important part in developing the imaginations of children and youth and enhancing their wellbeing.   We hope this fund provides opportunities for every South Australian child to take part in the wonderful and transformative world of performing arts through Adelaide Festival Centre’s many shows, workshops, and programs. There is nothing we love more than being able to support education programs for young people in SA and seeing them grow and flourish from these memorable experiences.”

Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation Chair Miranda Starke“The Foundation aims to provide long term financial support for Adelaide Festival Centre’s many programs. We are thrilled that Ian and Pamela share our vision and we thank them for their incredible generosity. The Walls have now donated more than $2 million to the Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation in support of Her Majesty’s Theatre and our children’s programs; it’s an inspiring legacy and the impact of their giving will be enjoyed by generations of South Australians to come.”

Adelaide Festival Centre CEO & Artistic Director Douglas Gautier AM: We sincerely thank Ian and Pamela for their generous contribution and unwavering support of the arts. This fund will certainly create memories to last a lifetime for the children of South Australia and give even more young people the opportunity to experience the magic of live performance and be inspired by the arts”
