“Distinctive, environmentally conscious and beautifully nestled in the landscape. Located in the Alps, the resort offers a different kind of luxury where sustainability and nature are paramount.” This is how the expert jury of the AHEAD Awards Europe edition 2021 judges the CERVO Mountain Resort, awarding the hotel for its design concept in the category Resort Hotel Europe.
The ties with the homeland and love for nature are noticeable and visible everywhere in the resort. Local materials and architecture reflect the connection with nature. The design and inspirations from around the world provide for the special atmosphere of the resort in Zermatt, which had just relaunched in December 2020 after major renovation and expansion and with a further developed concept.
The visionary design concept was conceived and implemented together with Daniel F. Lauber, founder and hotelier of CERVO Mountain Resort, Zermatt architects mls architekten sia ag, and DREIMETA GmbH & Co. KG, responsible for the interior design. The AHEAD Award is given for ‘tireless pursuit of the extraordinary’ and recognizes all design elements. The award ceremony took place on November 19 in London.
