Serviced Apartments Platform AG, which operates out of Switzerland and has invested in Acomodeo since 2020, now completes the total acquisition.
Acomodeo, a German start-up headquartered in Frankfurt, at which Eric-Jan Krausch and his team have put their heart and soul over the past six years, is the leading digital marketplace for serviced apartments.
“It has been a turbulent year. Due to refinancing needs in the middle of the Corona crisis, we were dependent on new shareholders,” Krausch remembers the 2020 year for Acomodeo. “In addition to the support from customers and suppliers, it was the backing of Serviced Apartments Platform AG that got us through this challenging time and enabled us to continue to further develop and grow.”
Through the years Krausch raised over 10 million Euro in venture capital for Acomodeo, which enabled him and his co-managing director Peter Ashworth to continuously develop their technology platform, grow a global client portfolio and build a close cooperation with inventory and booking partners. As a result, Acomodeo became the first portal to enable customers to book accommodation from one night up to two years within a fully integrated and customizable application that meets the needs of both companies and travellers. With Acomodeo’s booking and service solution, Krausch and Ashworth have established a prominent market presence, winning over 40 major companies, including several DAX heavyweights.
Anja Graf, Chair of the Board of Directors of Serviced Apartments Platform AG, is convinced that the acquisition will provide a new boost for the company’s strategy, namely the brokerage of apartments and the support of companies and business travellers: “Serviced apartments represent an important strategic pillar in our company,” says Anja Graf. “The technical infrastructure, services, client base and experienced team acquired through Acomodeo, further ensure the efficiency of our business travel services while also underlining their strategic significance.”
Anja Graf’s goal is to further expand the world’s leading digital marketplace for serviced apartments and is already investing in international sales offices to this end.
“Acomodeo is recognized worldwide and strongly established in German-speaking countries. Now Serviced Apartments Platform AG, will take the next step,” says Krausch. “By selling my shares, I’m taking the opportunity to take my first time off in over six years and focus on my son born this July.”
As a part of its integration, the management team of Serviced Apartments Platform AG will be taking over the reins of Acomodeo from Founder Eric-Jan Krausch and Managing Director Peter Ashworth starting September 1, 2021.
